How to Help Your Favorite Writers

I was going to write a post about this very topic today but what else could I say that isn’t said here?

Whether you know them personally or admire them from afar, we all want to help out our favorite writers. But a lot of people don’t know how to help those people, especially if they’re budding authors. So what can you do?


This is probably the best thing you can do. When potential readers go out to search for books, they base a lot of their decision making on reviews. Typically they’ll read the bad ones first to see what people didn’t like, then the good ones, then make their decision from there. If a book has only a handful of reviews, especially if they’re all glowing, people are less likely to pick that book because they’re wary of either the good reviews being fake or or not having enough information to decide they really want it.
