Book News: The Big One! a.k.a. The Push Chronicles Through WordFire Press!

So it’s time to make the more proper big announcement I’ve been waiting to do all week. I am honored to say that all three books of the Push Chronicles are now being published through WordFire Press!

You can get them now through Amazon and Baen Books‘ e-book store! The covers have had a little touch-up but still show the amazing art from my good friend, Felipe De Barros, and the excellent editing and proofing team from Wordfire have done their magic. If you‘re looking for some excellent superhero literature that goes a little deeper than your everyday smash-bam-pow, give these a read!

You can get the updated links from my Released Books page, right at the top!

Book/General/Convention News: The Big Update!

Okay, time to pull away some curtains to reveal what all has been taking up so much of my time. INITIATE THE BULLET POINTS!

  • New print editions of The Push Chronicles, all three books, are coming out soon in the more popular 5 x 8 inch format, graced with brand-new spine and back cover design by Reyn Ruch, the cover artist of The Songstress Murders, to make the new editions much nicer to have sitting on your shelf!
  • Speaking of The Songstress Murders, you can read a fresh review HERE. Also, Reyn did an updated cover design and art for Inspector Redmane’s first adventure, so check it out as well!
  • You may have noticed that I have once again become a fully independent author, with The Opening Bell back under my full control and republished on Amazon. The price is back to something reasonable ($2.99 USD as opposed to 6.99) and you Kindle Unlimited folks can now read it for free! The new print edition will be available soon, with the original Felipe de Barros cover art and extra cover design for the print edition by Reyn Ruch as well.
  • As the series is back in my hands, let me announce that The Tale of the Tape, fully revised with extended material, will be available for pre-order soon. The release proper will be in early August. I will announce the precise date within the week!
  • In addition to Kansas City Comic Con in early August, I am proud to announce that I will also be appearing at the Pensacola Comic Convention in late August at the Game Space table. I’ll not only be there with my books and witty conversation, but assisting in gaming demos and the like.
  • Also, I’ll be making an appearance at Necronomicon 2016 in Tampa, Florida, right before Halloween! It should be an incredible experience!
  • Finally, expect one more big announcement soon about the Sekrit Writin Projikt very soon!  All I will say now is that 1 done, 2 to go!

I’ll be posting details of the new print edition covers over the week and more, so stay tuned!  Maybe even a book review!

Until then, good reading, good writing, and good luck!

Sneak Peek: The Twelfth Labor Cover Art by Felipe de Barros

Render

Six chapters to go but the cover art is ready to go!  Once again, my esteemed colleague and friend Felipe de Barros delivers with this stylized piece for the finale to Three Seconds to LegendThe Twelfth Labor.  He really pulled out the stops here, in my opinion, combining the mythic elements in the series with the wrestling theme and the overall drama of the climax of the plot.

The Twelfth Labor should be out by the end of April.

General News: Pensacon Bound

Not in any official capacity (though late last year I had thought about getting a booth to sell books out of) but I will be heading out to Pensacon, Pensacola’s own sci-fi and fantasy convention, on Friday.  I’m hoping to meet other authors, establish some connections, and generally have fun.  I expect to be there the whole day Friday from open at 1 p.m. to shutdown at 7 p.m.

So, if you’re a fan or just want to meet and you are going to be there, let me know.  I’ll be lugging around some of the excellent posters Felipe de Barros wrote up as well as some copies of my books that might very well be given away if someone asks nicely enough.

Good luck and good writing!

Book News: Incorruptible should be out …

… tomorrow!

Well, give or take 8 to 24 hours.

If you remember back from my first and only attempt at coordinating a preorder release, I discovered that Amazon, Smashwords, and what not all release at a different ‘midnight’, not to mention each having their own wrinkles to the ‘preorder’ and ‘release on a schedule’ thing.  For that reason, for the rest of my books, I’m just uploading and running the usual approval process.

So, yes, Incorruptible, the last book in The Push Chronicles (for now, at least), will likely be available tomorrow later in the day, but most definitely by Wednesday, featuring another beautiful piece of cover art by Felipe de Barros, as show below:

Also, expect the next Starving Review by mid-week!  Enjoy and have a good day!

Book News: The Secret Project is officially begun!

For some time now, I’ve been collaborating closely with my cover artist and good friend, Felipe de Barros, on a SECRET PROJECT.  The time has come for that project to be unveiled!

Doppel, a postmodern adventure of altered perceptions, societal controls, and what it means to be human, takes us into the near-now, the year 2025, into the seemingly perfect life of Dr. Alex Turing. Living in the Blue States, a seeming Utopia, a fateful decision and a chance encounter throw back the veil and plunge Alex into the midst of the plots of MARK, the supercomputer that controls the entire Blue, an adventure that will change the course of the world.

This graphic novel tale is from Felipe’s conceptions and ideas and combines his fantastic art with my writing.  Check it out at Webtoons and please rate it based on what you see.  The Prologue is now live with Chapter 1 to follow soon!

General News: Felipe de Barros’ new site!

I almost filed this under Book News for reasons that will become clear in the near future (MYSTERY!  SUSPENSE!  DRAMA!) but my good friend and the man responsible for all my wonderful book cover art, Felipe de Barros has started up a Facebook page that you can access from THIS LINK for showcasing both his latest art and news of his ongoing independent work.  If you’re a Facebook sort of person, you should definitely check it out.

Even if you aren’t, however, you might want to glance at it every once in a while over the coming days.  Felipe is going to be making a big announcement as to an ongoing comic book project in the coming week or so and it’s a project that I am deeply involved in.  If you’re a fan of his art or my writing, you might want to watch for it!

Good luck and good writing!

Sneak Peek: The cover art for Incorruptible

Incorruptible Cover

Here it is, delivered as always by the skilled hand of my good friend Felipe de Barros!  With the manuscript entering its second full revision, it is looking like we might really make a January or February release date.  Even though this is the end of this trilogy, I think this is far from the end of my writing stories in the world of The Push Chronicles but I think with a world that’s spawning a lot of interesting characters, it may be time to broaden out to a more anthology-based format.  We’ll see!

Until then, enjoy the art!

Book News: Almost done Incorruptible and wow, poster!

First off, it’s been a bit since the general writing update.

When last we left our intrepid starving author, he was madly scribbling on the manuscript for Incorruptible, the third book in The Push Chronicles.  Well, I’m almost done.  Two chapters to go, which I should get done with tomorrow.  Naturally, there will be months of editing and revision, but I think we can safely look at a January 2015 release, which is dead on schedule.  By next week, I should be at work on The Twelfth Labor.

Second, OMG POSTER!

If you were part of the Kickstarter for the books, you know that one of the special rewards for making above goal was special posters with new art from my main man artist, Felipe de Barros, and the first of those two with art from The Push Chronicles has become reality:

20141111_160807

Naturally, I’m keeping one for me.  Expect in the near future that these will be available for sale through some outlet.  Still working on that part!

More news as things progress!  Good luck and good writing!

One day to go: Kickstarter Take 2 ends in 24ish hours!

The title says it all!

The good part is that we have already met and exceeded our initial goal.  Hurray!

The bad part is that we are just INCHES from a $750 stretch goal.  $15 US from not only funding more work, but netting all the contributors free posters with the book art and two special works done exclusively for the Kickstarter.

So, if you want to contribute, now is the time!  If you can’t contribute, share!

You can check out the project by clicking the My Kickstarter tab at the top of this blog or by clicking HERE.
