General News: Ahh! Not More Socialization! a.k.a. Why This Blog Was Dead For A Time

Wow, it’s been a while.

First, let me start off by making the usual excuses. I was very busy, I had so much writing to do, I had a ton of editing jobs, and a lot of personal appearances (at least for me).

Now that I have that out of the way, let me knock all those excuses down.

General News: Shaking off the Dust a.k.a. A Hopeful Return to Your Regularly Scheduled Programming

It’s been a bit, hasn’t it?

Well, let’s just say that things have turned into an insane asylum post-Pensacon. A good kind of insanity to be fair … a manic rush to finish a deadline, dealing with a set-up for something huge around the corner, and prepping for what looks to be a busy convention season ahead. There are new projects brewing, bits of which I hope to share with you all soon. Sometime in this mess, I also need to actually, you know, read a book or two for those of you waiting for more reviews.

To make the announcements, though, I have just recently put out a new book, another co-authored project with J. A. Cipriano, and my first toedip into the LitRPG genre. Also, once again, I am honored to be appearing at the end of this month at the Bard’s Tower mobile bookstore, this time at Planet Comic Con in Kansas City.

More news and specifics to come!

Until next time (hopefully far sooner than last), good reading, good writing, and good luck!

General News: Hard At Work! a.k.a. An Updates About Updates?!

Another layer and we’d be at Update Inception.

I’m in the midst of:

  • Getting final bits done and the art in for Rune Service. Yes, it is still coming.
  • Working on a new collaboration of J. A. Cipriano which should come to fruition sometime in March
  • Getting prepped for Pensacon in just a few weeks!
  • Reading two books at once for reviews and such.

So yes, much going on, much knees-bent-advancing behavior. Expect reviews to be posted soon and plenty of up-to-the minute news once Pensacon starts!

General News: A Week of Sick (Not The Cool 90’s Kind of Sick)! a.k.a. Recovery and Getting Back to Work

So it’s been quiet around here for a little bit after my last big announcement and I apologize for that. Unfortunately, unlike some silences, this one wasn’t for a good reason as I’ve been sick as all get out for a bit. Thankfully, I’m now back to maybe 80 percent, which means things are about to get back to business.

Some quick updates on what little I have managed to accomplish in the meantime:

  • Rune Service has been moved back to later this month. The manuscript is tight, the editing is just about done, and the art is on its way!
  • Everything is on course for Pensacon! My stock should be in next week, as well as some fresh new business cards. My excitement continues to grow!
  • I did get some reading and some listening done while I was convalescing. We will have both a Starving Review and a Starving Audioreview this coming week, maybe even TWO Reviews.
  • My schedule is also heating up as I enter into some new writing and editing contracts this month. That may mean we’ll be sticking to the bare basics in terms of updates until these deadlines are met. Wish me luck!

Thank you for your patience in this regard! Expect new content by the end of the week and until then, good reading, good writing, and good luck!

Starving Review Update: Submission Rules and Such!

A quickie update as I prepare for upcoming events, I have revised the submission rules for a Starving Review.

In essence, review submissions are open … kind of. I will be taking a VERY LIMITED amount of submissions, books that make in impact on me from authors that can impress their true passion and wit on me. So do your best and if I don’t get back to you, do not feel ignored or insulted.

General News: A Birthday Update

Just a real quick one here, as it is my 40th birthday and there are things that require my now-mature attention:

  • The Twelfth Labor is now available in paperback, either through Amazon or through CreateSpace.
  • As I got two Starving Reviews out early in the week, this Friday’s content will be a fresh Writing Is A Bad Habit, with reviews back next Friday.
  • My big solo-authored sale is still on for another day. Get all my solo-written e-books from Amazon for only $.99 USD a piece!

Now I’m going back to enjoying my birthday! See you all again on tomorrow!

Monday Update: Back to Business a.k.a. The Immediate and Near-Future of a Starving Author

The deadlines have been quashed, the burn-out has been put out, and the writing wheels have been greased. It’s time to get on getting on so let’s get back up to speed, as well as map out the near future.

  • First, I hate to announce that I won’t be at Necronomicon at the end of the month. Certain family obligations and financial missteps have made it something I just can’t do. However, I am already planning on being there next year, so fingers crossed.
  • Speaking of 2017 conventions, I hope to have a slew of news about appearances. I’ll definitely be hitting some old haunts and hopefully some new ones.
  • Book releases! As you know, I’ve been working with J. A. Cipriano to release a trilogy of urban fantasy books (Clans of Shadow) which are all now out. I also will be getting out the finale of Three Seconds to LegendThe Twelfth Labor, in Novemeber. Also also, I have a couple of really neat projects in progress. More news on that to come in the near future!
  • Book reviews are coming back! Really! This week even! Expect a fresh Starving Review on Friday.
  • Naturally, expect some more writing articles this Wednesday.
  • In other words, we’re back on track, boys and girls!

As always, until then, good reading, good writing, and good luck!

General News: It’s Been Too Long! a.k.a. No Excuses But Life’s Been Crazy!

Right, so it’s been a while, friends.

Two books released, a very fun and profitable convention, and another manuscript baking in the oven as we speak. Meanwhile, I’ve been silent.

Well, all I can say is that everything has been crazy. There’s been moving (not myself, but others), cleaning, a bout or two of sickness, and a pulled shoulder. Oh, and FIFTY-FOUR HOURS ON A GREYHOUND BUS!

I can’t stress that last thing enough.

It’s enough to strain the soul!

But I’m back now. Crap is going to get done. I have two more books coming this year at the very minimum. Namely the next book of the Cults of ShadowFists of Iron, and the last book of Three Seconds to LegendThe Twelfth Labor. And don’t worry, the second Inspector Redmane MysteryPackie’s Problem, is still coming and I have a special new project in the works, a light novel actually, but we’ll save more info on that for later.

We’re still going to be light on Starving Reviews until November, when my last deadline for the year is done, but I have multiple books lined up and partly read, so they’ll come quickly then.

Oh, and finally, the Released Books and Upcoming Books are updated! Go there for links to grab my latest releases, like The Tale of the Tape and Feet of Clay.

Until next time, good reading, good writing, and good luck!

General News: Not Quite Dead Yet! a.k.a. Quick Update Before The Real Updates

To be brief, no, I’m not dead yet.

Horribly, horribly busy, but not dead.

You should all know the reasons why, as per previous posts, but some of those reasons are coming to glorious fruition, as you’ll see in the two additional posts to follow.

The first is the reveal of the SUPER SEKRIT PROJIKT.

The second is some cool news out of Kansas City Comic Con with which I am involved.

Stay tuned!
