Kansas City Comic Con

Convention News: The Last Two Shows of the Season! a.k.a. Quest-Con and Kansas City Comic Con!

It’s coming down to the end of 2017 but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a last few conventions with which to blow out the year with a bang!

This Friday, I’ll be headed to Mobile, AL for Quest-Con 2017 alongside the always amazing Bard’s Tower crew. I’ll have plenty of Push Chronicle books for sale and I’m always open for a chat. If you’re in the area or headed to the convention anyway, we’d love to see you at the booth.

Not to be beat, November will bring us to the last show of the year (at least for me), Kansas City Comic Con 2017. I had a great time there last year and I’m looking forward to my return trip! This one will be a solo outing so I’ll have my full library of titles for sale so come on by if you’re there.

Thanks for all the support! Until next time, good reading, good writing, and good luck!

Convention News: A Panel, Yo! a.k.a. I Made It On a Panel at KCCC!

Convention update time!

Not only will I have a creator’s table at Kansas City Comic Con, I’ve been invited to sit on a writer’s panel there. Currently, it’s scheduled for Saturday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.! If you’re at the convention, come check it out!

I hope to see you there!

General News: Not Quite Dead Yet! a.k.a. Quick Update Before The Real Updates

To be brief, no, I’m not dead yet.

Horribly, horribly busy, but not dead.

You should all know the reasons why, as per previous posts, but some of those reasons are coming to glorious fruition, as you’ll see in the two additional posts to follow.

The first is the reveal of the SUPER SEKRIT PROJIKT.

The second is some cool news out of Kansas City Comic Con with which I am involved.

Stay tuned!

Book/General/Convention News: The Big Update!

Okay, time to pull away some curtains to reveal what all has been taking up so much of my time. INITIATE THE BULLET POINTS!

  • New print editions of The Push Chronicles, all three books, are coming out soon in the more popular 5 x 8 inch format, graced with brand-new spine and back cover design by Reyn Ruch, the cover artist of The Songstress Murders, to make the new editions much nicer to have sitting on your shelf!
  • Speaking of The Songstress Murders, you can read a fresh review HERE. Also, Reyn did an updated cover design and art for Inspector Redmane’s first adventure, so check it out as well!
  • You may have noticed that I have once again become a fully independent author, with The Opening Bell back under my full control and republished on Amazon. The price is back to something reasonable ($2.99 USD as opposed to 6.99) and you Kindle Unlimited folks can now read it for free! The new print edition will be available soon, with the original Felipe de Barros cover art and extra cover design for the print edition by Reyn Ruch as well.
  • As the series is back in my hands, let me announce that The Tale of the Tape, fully revised with extended material, will be available for pre-order soon. The release proper will be in early August. I will announce the precise date within the week!
  • In addition to Kansas City Comic Con in early August, I am proud to announce that I will also be appearing at the Pensacola Comic Convention in late August at the Game Space table. I’ll not only be there with my books and witty conversation, but assisting in gaming demos and the like.
  • Also, I’ll be making an appearance at Necronomicon 2016 in Tampa, Florida, right before Halloween! It should be an incredible experience!
  • Finally, expect one more big announcement soon about the Sekrit Writin Projikt very soon!  All I will say now is that 1 done, 2 to go!

I’ll be posting details of the new print edition covers over the week and more, so stay tuned!  Maybe even a book review!

Until then, good reading, good writing, and good luck!

Monday Musings: MobiCon 2016 After-Action Report!

Well, we are back safe and sound from Mobicon 2016 and it was quite a blast!

I certainly feel like the whole ‘baptism-of-fire’ thing has come and gone. There are certainly things I could have done better, both in planning and in execution, but I’ve been lucky to have gotten tons of advice from my fellow local authors. All in all, things felt like they went well and I certainly felt like I hit a certain groove by late Friday.

The big things I learned to improve on for the future:

  • Get prepared EVEN SOONER. It allows for greater flexibility and fiscal planning.
  • Branded tat! I knew this ahead of time, but I failed to take full advantage due to some last minute changes of planning and unexpected front-end expenses.
  • Incorporate some more three-dimensionality in the displays, both to improve table use and to help catch eyes.

So the next confirmed con visit is Kansas City Comic Con in August! More info and updates to come!

Monday Musings: Convention Con Carne a.k.a. Three Conventions? NO WAI!

Today’s Monday Musings will both be a bit of a quickie and also a bit of Convention News!

So I got the good news that I’ll be appearing (in the vendors room!) at Necronomicon 2016 in Tampa, FL!  Right before Halloween, I’m really looking forward to it.  Combine that with my appearances at Mobicon in May and Kansas City Comic-Con in August, we get a triple threat.  This will likely be it for this year, but I’m looking on getting an early start next year to get a huge convention schedule going.

If you’re in the area for any of these conventions, I hope you come by the table and see me!  I’d love to meet you!
