The Tale of the Tape

Book News: Happy Thanksgiving! Have A Book Sale!

First off, as the title suggests, I want to wish everyone out there a happy Thanksgiving, assuming you celebrate that holiday in your neck of the world. Even if you don’t, have a happy Thursday!

Second, because of said holiday, tomorrow’s Starving Review might be delayed a day or two, but it will be coming soon on the heels of Friday.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly in general, all of my solo titles will be going on SALE starting tomorrow! Black Friday, baby!

Book/General/Convention News: The Big Update!

Okay, time to pull away some curtains to reveal what all has been taking up so much of my time. INITIATE THE BULLET POINTS!

  • New print editions of The Push Chronicles, all three books, are coming out soon in the more popular 5 x 8 inch format, graced with brand-new spine and back cover design by Reyn Ruch, the cover artist of The Songstress Murders, to make the new editions much nicer to have sitting on your shelf!
  • Speaking of The Songstress Murders, you can read a fresh review HERE. Also, Reyn did an updated cover design and art for Inspector Redmane’s first adventure, so check it out as well!
  • You may have noticed that I have once again become a fully independent author, with The Opening Bell back under my full control and republished on Amazon. The price is back to something reasonable ($2.99 USD as opposed to 6.99) and you Kindle Unlimited folks can now read it for free! The new print edition will be available soon, with the original Felipe de Barros cover art and extra cover design for the print edition by Reyn Ruch as well.
  • As the series is back in my hands, let me announce that The Tale of the Tape, fully revised with extended material, will be available for pre-order soon. The release proper will be in early August. I will announce the precise date within the week!
  • In addition to Kansas City Comic Con in early August, I am proud to announce that I will also be appearing at the Pensacola Comic Convention in late August at the Game Space table. I’ll not only be there with my books and witty conversation, but assisting in gaming demos and the like.
  • Also, I’ll be making an appearance at Necronomicon 2016 in Tampa, Florida, right before Halloween! It should be an incredible experience!
  • Finally, expect one more big announcement soon about the Sekrit Writin Projikt very soon!  All I will say now is that 1 done, 2 to go!

I’ll be posting details of the new print edition covers over the week and more, so stay tuned!  Maybe even a book review!

Until then, good reading, good writing, and good luck!

Book News: A new review for The Tale of the Tape, Indefatigable revised, and OMG PATREON!

There’s a lot on the plate today!

First up, here’s another cool unsolicited review for The Tale of the Tape up on Amazon.com!  Check it out here.

Second, I’m proud to announce that the full revised edition of Indefatigable is now published.  This means that all of my books have now been cleaned up to the professional standards I have learned over this past year of blood, sweat, and tears.  A big thanks to everyone who has been both supportive and critical over this time!  Now I can move on to NEW BUSINESS!

Lastly and perhaps most importantly, I have now started a Patreon campaign to help support both my writing and my blogging.  There will be some nice rewards for Patrons, such as a Patreon-only serial novel.  The main thing that regular readers of this blog will see is that the last Starving Review each month will be Patreon-powered, reviewing a book chosen by Patreon supporters.  These Patreon reviews will start in June for sure, but may start this month if there is sufficient patronage by then.

Check out the page and hopefully I can count on your support!

Good reading, good writing, and good luck!

Book News: The Tale of the Tape revised and rereleased

We are almost to the end of Revision Road.  The files for the revised edition of The Tale of the Tape are working through Amazon and Smashwords as we speak.  This fully cleaned-up edition should be available later today for download.  If you previously purchased the book, all you need to do is update it (Kindles at the least should do this auto-magically).

All that’s left in terms of ‘old business’ is to revise Indefatigable and then it’s time to progress to new writing.  Huzzah!

Thanks to all those people who have read, reviewed, rated, and provided input to this point!  You have been a fantastic help in this process!

The Tale of the Tape is now live!

The Tale of the Tape

You can now purchase Book 2 of Three Seconds to Legend on Smashwords and Amazon for $2.99!

Here’s the blurb:

On the eve of their victory over the most powerful family in wrestling history, everything like it would be perfect to Leilana Ito and Dana Harding. Nothing is ever constant in the tumultuous world of pro wrestling however! That perfect ending was snatched away when Leilana disappeared, forced into another one of the Von Richter family’s sick games. Desperate to find her, Dana starts on a country-wide search, spurred on not only by friendship, but something stronger: love.

Not knowing the depths of feeling her friend has for her, Leilana finds herself facing the gauntlet of rigged matches, hidden spies, and psychological torture as a ‘guest’ of the Von Richters in Las Vegas. Forced to compete in their personal league in a city where anything goes and no one asks any questions, Leilana puts it all on the line in a ring with few rules and every chance of not walking away from.

The clock is ticking. Can Dana find the woman she loves before it’s too late? Can Leilana endure the trials thrown in her path alone long enough to be saved? Even if they find each other, will Dana find her love to be reciprocated or unrequited … and will that be enough to stand against the dark intent of the Von Richter clan?

The Tale of the Tape is the second book of Three Seconds to Legend. The pro wrestling action/adventure drama will conclude with The Twelfth Labor in 2015!

Sneak Peek: Current WIP of the Indomitable 2nd edition cover

Cover_1_sample_6

Still not finished, but I still wanted to show off Felipe’s incredible work so far.  With the editing done, there should be news VERY soon as to the release of the second edition of Indomitable.  What news I can tell you is that the second edition books will be completely FREE, at least the digital copies.

Everything is still on track to publish Indefatigable and The Tale of the Tape by the end of September.  Currently, I’m probably going to go for a $2.99 price point for digital copies.  More news to come in the passing days!

Quick Weekend Update: Release schedules and perhaps a Kickstarter

Quick notes, as I’m trying to nurse a headache and spend time with the family.

First: I won’t be hitting my preferred end-of-August release for Indefatigable and The Tale of the Tape, but for a good reason.  My work with new cover artist Felipe Barros (check his portfolio out) is involved enough that the project to for all four new covers is going to run into September.   Sure, I would love to get the books out sooner but, at the same time, the quality will be so much better.  Good things are worth the effort, right?  I’m contemplating, though, updating the first books to their second edition content before the covers are ready, just as a service to those who have already bought the books.

Second: I’ve been working the past week on a Kickstarter, both for additional funds to finish out the two series and to fund advertising, convention fees, and an amount of physical publishing.  I still need to do a bit of work, mainly finishing financial stuff and doing a project video, but this could happen within the week.   You’ll hear about it here first when it happens.

Thanks for reading, thanks for the support, and enjoy your weekend!
