Book News: The Big One! a.k.a. The Push Chronicles Through WordFire Press!

So it’s time to make the more proper big announcement I’ve been waiting to do all week. I am honored to say that all three books of the Push Chronicles are now being published through WordFire Press!

You can get them now through Amazon and Baen Books‘ e-book store! The covers have had a little touch-up but still show the amazing art from my good friend, Felipe De Barros, and the excellent editing and proofing team from Wordfire have done their magic. If you‘re looking for some excellent superhero literature that goes a little deeper than your everyday smash-bam-pow, give these a read!

You can get the updated links from my Released Books page, right at the top!

General News: Shaking off the Dust a.k.a. A Hopeful Return to Your Regularly Scheduled Programming

It’s been a bit, hasn’t it?

Well, let’s just say that things have turned into an insane asylum post-Pensacon. A good kind of insanity to be fair … a manic rush to finish a deadline, dealing with a set-up for something huge around the corner, and prepping for what looks to be a busy convention season ahead. There are new projects brewing, bits of which I hope to share with you all soon. Sometime in this mess, I also need to actually, you know, read a book or two for those of you waiting for more reviews.

To make the announcements, though, I have just recently put out a new book, another co-authored project with J. A. Cipriano, and my first toedip into the LitRPG genre. Also, once again, I am honored to be appearing at the end of this month at the Bard’s Tower mobile bookstore, this time at Planet Comic Con in Kansas City.

More news and specifics to come!

Until next time (hopefully far sooner than last), good reading, good writing, and good luck!

Convention News: I Kept It A Secret For SO LONG! a.k.a. Pensacon 2017 alongside WordFire Press!

So I’ve been a naughty minx for quite sometime. I have had a secret tended in its little box for months now but now I have the go ahead to reveal it to the world at large.

You may (or may not) have been wondering why I haven’t mentioned any conventions this year. Part of that has been planning and finances but the real, big reason is that I have received the honor and privilege of an invitation to appear at Pensacon 2017 alongside the amazing authors of WordFire Press and have the chance to sell my works alongside theirs!

This is a huge moment for me. We’re talking rubbing elbows with the likes of Kevin J. Anderson, Dave Butler, Robin Hobb, and Mercedes Lackey! More than that, it’s being given a seat (if only for a few days) at a table with this caliber of author. It might even be the start of a brand new stretch of my writing career.

So I hope to see you there in February! Thank you for all your support and wish me luck!

Monday Musings: After Action Report! a.k.a. A Pensacon Post-mortem

Pensacon 2016 has come and gone.  It was a fantastic time for me.  I got to meet many interesting people, catch quite a few informative panels, and get some super smart advice from my fellow authors.  So what are the takeaways from this past weekend?

  • Interviews are actually pretty damn fun!  I sat down with three different podcast teams and, as those interviews come out, I’ll tell you about them, but it was enjoyable and interesting.  Will Do Again!
  • All of the folks from WordFire Press are great.  Dave Butler and Peter Wacks, in particular, were very supportive, fun, and full of advice for a Starving Author like myself.
  • I got to meet some great, legendary wrestlers, as well as the local promotion, Epic Championship Wrestling.  Fantastic chance to meet some inspirations for my work!
  • All the local authors were just as great.  Expect the next weeks to be a local author’s fest of reviews and interviews.  I bought a stack of them and each author deserves a moment in the sun!
  • I walked way too much on way too hard concrete for 30 some hours these past few days.  My feet hate me!
  • While I gave out a lot of business cards and got a lot of attention, that doesn’t turn into immediate sales.  Naturally, I wasn’t actually selling books, as I hadn’t managed to get a full vendor’s table, so that makes sense.  The week will tell if the attention turns into increased readership.
  • I *must* get tables at upcoming conventions.  I think that’s the last real hurdle to go.  People are interested in what I have to offer.  They will buy it, as many asked if they could from me, despite my lack of table.  If I can get them to read, I can get them to keep reading!

Convention News: Pensacon Day 1: A New Con Hope

Day one of Pensacon 2016 is a wrap for me!  I talked to a lot of great people (big props to the always delightful S. Usher Evans, the ever tall Dave Butler, and all the great local authors that didn’t have their business cards so my poor memory doesn’t remember by name), had my picture taken a lot, and fought my newly (and poorly) designed straps.

Needless to say, the sandwich board is under repairs as we speak to get ready for day 2!  There are still plenty of prizes left to hand out and the SPECIAL prize is still to be grabbed!

Hope to see you tomorrow!
